Look who stepped in front of the camera!

Fashion Inspired by Art.

For this styling project, we honored the influence of art in fashion and paid homage to the upcoming Art Basel event in Miami. The assignment was to creat an accessorized head-to-toe look inspired by this modern art painting. My painting was called "Lovers in the red sky" by Marc Chagall. My inspiration came from the two lovers in the middle of the photo. I decided to go with a burlesque boudoir styling. I wanted something sexy and sophisticated. This woman is showing her lover the treat he has in store for him. She wants to give him a visual piece of art with her body. Instead of finding a model for this assignement I decided to step in front of the camera and play model, stylist, art director, and photograhper for the day..whew! I had fun but I really commend models for doing what they do. It wasn't as glamorous as it may seem. Standing, holding your pose, bending, not mention the wig had me sweating like crazy. Never the less it was a great experience and my Professor said she really liked my presentation on powerpoint. By the way my husband did approve the photo ;) Have a great week everyone and talk to you soon.

"Green Arrow" Photo Shoot

Oliver "Ollie" Queen

Green Arrow

Me and Green Arrow on location

Hello Everyone. I hope your weekend is going awesome. It's still sunny and beautiful here in Northern California. I have to admit I don't want fall to come quite yet. I am still enjoying my toes being out! So this post is from a phototshoot I had last weekend. In my styling class we were given the assignment to create a comic book. We were given a comic book character and we had to style that character's hidden identity as well as his/her superhero/villain. Let me just say this was alot of fun. The main objective of this assignment was to create wearable fashion without the styling looking like a costume. Let me give you the story line for those of you who arent familiar with the Green Arrow. Oliver "Ollie" Queen was born into wealth. He was a handsome ladies man who lived a comfortable life. He had a girlfriend who was ready for him to settle down and commit. In fear of committment Oliver runs off and takes his girlfriend's sister on a trip aboard his families yacht. The yacht is destroyed in a ship wreck and the only survivors are Oliver and his father. While trying to survive this horrible shipwreck Oliver's father tells him some devastating news. He tells his son that their wealth has been given to them on the account of others struggling. After revealing his secret Oliver's father asks his son for one request, that once he is rescued that he must go back and take revenge on all those who have brought their city down with crime. Oliver's father doesn't survive the wreckage but Oliver manages to wash up along an island. On this island their are corrupt people who want to destroy innocent people on the island. Oliver learns his survival skills while on this island. One of his master skills is in archery. He manages to get off the island and returns home. He returns home to see the city infested with crime and poverty. His mother insists on him taking a part in the family's business but Oliver declines. His only mission now, armed with his bow and arrow is to honor's his father's last wishes... and so a hero is here "Green Arrow" My model was my Ken Smith and my photographer was my Razon Tramble. We shot the Oliver Queen shots at a fabulous restaurant in Berkeley called The Five Restaurant. The Green Arrow shots were in an industrial area I found near my house. I had a great time creating the looks for the Green Arrow and my classmate Andrea created the looks for Oliver Queen. Thanks for checking out my post. Enjoy your weekend!

Happy Thoughts

This quote is for all my fashion divas who strategically plan their ensemble everyday! lol

Hello everyone. My sincerest apologies for my absence I have had several technical difficulties but never the less I am back. I have been reflecting on my personal and professional goals for the last couple of weeks. Things are coming together slowly but none the less my goals are becoming more and more of  a reality. I rely alot of self motivation and positive thinking to help me through difficult challenges that seem to always cross my path. I am thankful for these moments because they allow me to realize that I am still a work in progress. Soemtimes life gets really hard and we question our entire purpose but when I realize that my thoughts can change my perception and my reaction to life I get a sense of ease knowing its all working for my good. Have a great weekend. I have shared a few quotes that I like to read to help me get through the day.
